Mountain View II

This magnificent north-facing site unfolds through the layers from street and existing house to reveal a large garden and indigenous forest as foreground to the mountain. The footprint of the house was retained but a new layout proposed to optimise the relationship with the garden and context, with new first-floor bedroom suites to enjoy the panoramic view. Shielded from the street with landscaping, the house comprises a simple palette of timber cladding, Rheinzink roofing and plastered walls.
